Masked Singer People

There have been many trends that have been a part of The Masked Singer from season to season. These include the contestants walking onto the stage while a song is playing, each group having theme nights, with Group A having the premiere as a regular episode, wildcard contestants in each group, and the unmasked contestant performing an encore of the song they had just performed that episode or any song they performed that season. Over time, some of these trends have changed, as Seasons 7, 8, and 9 did not have any wildcard contestants, and neither will Season 12, and the walk-in song for contestants on theme nights is now a song that relates to the theme of the episode and not the costume itself. After two amazing seasons with Seasons 8 and 9, my expectations for Season 10 were fairly high. It made sense too, considering they made a teaser for it that aired immediately after the Season 9 finale ended. In the month of July, they released another teaser that I found to be cute, as it was all the letters in the name of the show coming to the stage, but they were all made to look like past contestants, and some were made to look like upcoming contestants. However, there was something going on at the same time at the season that had me concerned. A day after this teaser was released, the actors strike had begun. All that I could think about now was how this would impact the season, as one of the panelists is an actor, and I was also wondering how many contestants would drop out because of the strike, leading to the show having to find last minute replacements. As we are currently almost halfway through Season 10, it seems right to make a post that recaps who has been unmasked so far, the identities of who is still in the competition, and what is still to come this season. The season started off with a kickoff episode that featured a guest contestant named Anonymouse. She gave an amazing performance of the song “What About Love” by Heart as a way of starting off the season. At the end of the episode, she was revealed to be pop singer Demi Lovato, who is one of the biggest stars the show has had. When the season premiere aired a few weeks later, the first contestant to be unmasked was Rubber Ducky. He gave an entertaining performance of “Come on Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners and was revealed at the end of the episode to be actor and comedian Anthony Anderson.
