The Lucky 6

After nine amazing episodes with all three groups, it was time for the groups to merge with the Lucky 6! I was looking forward to this episode very much since it was announced before the season started, as I knew it meant that two contestants would be moving on at the end of each group, and in a lot of the past seasons, when only one contestant moves on at the end of each group, it resulted in other great contestants getting robbed, so I was looking forward to hearing more amazing performances from the Final Six.

The first performer of the night was Mad Scientist Monster. In this episode, there weren’t really that much to the clue packages, as it mostly consisted of each contestant sharing brief information about themselves that they already said so far, along with them saying one additional thing about themselves meant to help narrow down the panelists guesses, before a colossal clue was presented onstage. For Mad Scientist Monster, he said that he was not Keith Urban, but that they had shared the stage together, and the colossal clue that was presented onstage for him was the state flag for Tennessee. He then went on to give an amazing performance of “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes, during which he showed off all the power in his voice while doing a more upbeat song with a lot of dancing. After every performance, the panelists had 30 seconds to ask the contestants any questions they wanted to. The questions that were asked of Mad Scientist Monster revealed that he drives a Ford Raptor, has won many awards for singing, and is way younger than Ken. I still agree with the popular guess on the internet, which is that Mad Scientist Monster is Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line. He performed with Keith Urban at CMA Fest one year, the Tennessee flag is because he has spent a lot of time in Nashville, he drives a truck, has won a lot of awards, and is 39 years old, compared to Ken who is 55 years old.

The next performer of the night was Nessy. In his clue package, he said that he is usually a pretty private guy, but being back in the spotlight has made him feel like a star again, and then he said that he is not Pat Monahan, and the colossal clue for him was his 2025 tour schedule. He then went on to give an amazing performance of “Stargazing” by Myles Smith, during which he showed off all the power in his voice. After his performance, Robin said that with that performance, he might have given himself away, which I initially thought he was wrong about. During the 30 second Q&A session, he said that he has kids, his favorite social media platform is TikTok, and he sings “arguably one of the most famous” love songs. I agree with the popular guess on the internet, which I was shocked to hear Robin guess as well, which is that Nessy is 90s singer Edwin McCain. All the locations on the tour schedule were either where he has performed this year or where he is going to perform this year, he has kids, he has a TikTok, and his song “I’ll Be” is one of the most famous love songs.

The next performer of the night was Coral. In her clue package, she said that performing is something she has been wanting to do more of, and that she can do more than just sing, as we know her from a huge franchise, and the colossal clue for her was the Anonymouse costume from Season 10, which was Demi Lovato. She then went on to give an amazing performance of “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore, during which she showed off all the power in her voice. During the 30 second Q&A session, she said that her connection to Demi Lovato was the happiest place on Earth, she was born on a Tuesday, she’s not friends with Rita, and she is not from a famous family. I still agree with the popular guess on the internet, which is that Coral is actress and singer Meg Donnelly. She can do more than sing, as she is an actress, the franchise she is part of is the “Zombies” franchise, the Anonymouse costume is because both she and Demi Lovato have history working with Disney, and she was born on July 25, 2000, which was a Tuesday.

The next performer of the night was Paparazzo. In his clue package, he said that he has never sang before, and the song that he was about to perform would be the biggest hint to his identity yet, and the colossal clue for him was Danielle Fishel from “Boy Meets World.” He then went on to give an amazing performance of “Unpretty” by TLC, which was perfect for his voice, and also impressive because he is not a professional singer, and gave amazing performances of four completely different songs at this point in time. During the 30 second Q&A session, he said that he has been on lots of TV shows, appeared on TMZ, had a poster of Jenny on his wall, and has never met Rita. I knew that Jenny was going to stick with her correct guess of Matthew Lawrence from last time, but I was curious if she was going to be able to convince any of the other panelists.

The next performer of the night was Pearl. In her clue package, she said that she came into the competition determined to show a side of herself no one has ever seen before, and it had been wonderful opening up, and while she loves her music, she is not Shania Twain, and the colossal clue for her was a giant “ELVIS” sign. She then went on to give an amazing and fun performance of “Conga” by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, during which she showed off all the power in her voice, and she did a great job with the fast paced chorus. During the 30 second Q&A session, she said that she has something a little better than a gold record. I still agree with the popular guess on the internet, which is that Pearl is country singer Gretchen Wilson. She was featured on the Elvis Presley album “Christmas Duets,” and her debut album “Here for the Party” was certified 5x Platinum.

The last performer of the night was Boogie Woogie. In his clue package, he said that he never anticipated enjoying a competition like this so much, but that there was no one enjoying it more than his kids, and the colossal clue for him was a Statue of Liberty holding a guitar. He then went on to give an amazing performance of “Unsteady” by X Ambassadors, during which he showed off all the power and emotion in his voice. During the 30 second Q&A session, he said that he is always smiling and he is famous for his voice. I still agree with the popular guess on the internet, which is that Boogie Woogie is Andy Grammer. He would be famous for his voice, as he is a singer, he has two children, plays the guitar, and grew up in Chester, New York.

After everyone had performed, it was time for the unmasking, and the singer with the least amount of votes was revealed to be Paparazzo, which didn’t surprise me, as I feel that maybe the panelists wanted to unmask someone who was not a professional singer as opposed to someone who was a professional singer. Before his unmasking, the Crack The Case Clue Case was brought out, and inside was a picture of a reptile zoo. Paparazzo then said that he has a reptile zoo in his backyard, and that if the panelists didn’t believe him, they could ask his famous family. I was not surprised to see all the panelists come up with different guesses, as this truly seemed like a time where some of them really were trying to come up with any guess at all. He then unmasked, and Jenny and the internet were proven to be right yet again, as Paparazzo was revealed to be Matthew Lawrence. I thought it was great that he did the show even though he was scared of performing, as it shows what some celebrities might be comfortable doing when they’re dressed in a costume on the show. I’m also happy that he was on the show, as I had him on my list of celebrities that I thought were perfect for the show. I think that he is a great singer, and it would be great to hear him do some singing again. With Jenny guessing him correctly, this now puts her in the lead for The Golden Ear Trophy.

Overall, this was another amazing episode of Season 13 of The Masked Singer, and I’ll see you all next week with The Quarterfinals in Soundtrack Of My Life Night!
