Exhibit At The Paley Center

I have some exciting news about The Masked Singer to share with you all! From March 13 to May 19 on Wednesdays to Sundays from 12:00 to 6:00, The Paley Center for Media will be having an exhibit for The Masked Singer!

This exhibit is described on the website as having a “stunning selection of the series’ breathtaking costumes, sparkling video highlights, artifacts, and photography.” The display itself will feature some of the actual costumes from the show, which are The Leopard, The Gazelle, The Chameleon, Miss Monster, The Yeti, The Mummies, The Seahorse, The Flamingo, The Mushroom, The Rottweiler, and one of the costumes from the current season, The Gumball. There will also be a display of the “Don’t Talk to Me” hoodie and custom visor that each contestant must wear, and there will also be a Golden Mask Trophy on display.

There will also be fun activities for families, as there will be a Masked Singer-themed arts and crafts for kids in the library, and an interactive trivia quiz in the gallery. There will also be some screenings from Season 11 as well as a handpicked selection of related content from the Paley Archive showcasing some of TV’s most notable masters of disguise.

In a segment on Good Day New York, it showed exactly what the exhibit looks like. At the beginning of the exhibit are the Gumball and Flamingo costumes, as well as a giant screen that shows highlights from the show, and at the time it was showing the unmasking of The Hibiscus who was revealed to be Luann de Lesseps. Next to the costumes from the previous seasons are also pictures of the celebrities that were inside them, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, who was there for the opening of the exhibit, said that these pictures can also provide a fun game to play along, as people can cover up the pictures and then try to remember who was underneath the costumes. In the next room is one of The Mummies, Miss Monster along with three pictures of the costume during performances, The Yeti, and The Gazelle, as well as the Golden Mask Trophy. A closeup of the picture of the contestant also shows that it includes a section that says what their standout performance was. The next room features several pictures of unmasked contestants, which are The Raccoon, Mother Nature, The Butterfly, The Flower, and The Ladybug, and after all the pictures is The Leopard costume. Next to The Leopard are pictures of half of the costumes from Season 11, a screen right next to the pictures that was showing footage of The Leopard on the show at the time, pictures of the other half of the contestants on Season 11 on the other side of the screen, and The Chameleon costume right next to that. Next to that is a picture of the Santa Monica Pier with the center of the Ferris wheel made to look like The Masked Singer logo, a picture of The Fox and The Ice Cream at the Super Bowl, a picture of the Happy Meal toys of past contestants, and some of its other appearances on TV such as Saturday Night Live. Right across from this section is a wall that showed pictures of all the group contestants that the show has had, with another screen in the center showing footage of The Mushroom on the show and The Mushroom costume itself right there as well. Right after that is The Rottweiler costume and The Seahorse costume as well as another screen. Right after that are pictures of the unmasked Anonymouse, Royal Hen, Cuddle Monster, and Mermaid costumes with a green screen right next to them, which I’m guessing is for photos, and the Don’t Talk to Me hoodie and custom visor all the celebrities must wear in front of the pictures. Across from that is a gallery of the original sketches of many of the costumes, and then there are more unmasked pictures of The Panther, The Knight, The Snail, and The Seashell.

This is definitely an exhibit that I plan on going to, and I will give you all a write up of everything I see there once I go!
